‘육신에 속한 자들이 세우는 교회’
1. 본문 관찰과 묵상
고린도교회 성도들은 거듭났으나 아직 어린 아이와 같은 “육신에 속한 자들” 이었다. 그래서 사람중심으로 파당을 지어 교회를 분열시켰다.
2. QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성
바울, 게바, 아볼로는 동역자로 심고 물주었다. 그러나 자라게 하시는 이는 사람이 아닌 하나님이다. 바울은 교회의 터를 그리스도 위에 세웠다.
3. 결단과 적용
금, 은 보석으로 지은 교회는 불 시험을 견딘다. 나무, 풀, 짚으로 세운 교회는 불에 타 없어진다. 그 위에 세운 공적이 그대로 있어야 상을 받는다. 불 시험을 견뎌야 한다.
오늘의 기도
“너희를 연단하려고 오는 불 시험을 이상한 일 당하는 것같이 이상히 여기지 말라. 오히려 그리스도의 고난에 참여하는 것으로 즐거워하라” (벧전 4). 주여 오늘도 불 시험을 다 견뎌 정금이 되어 나오게 하소서. 예수님의 이름으로 기도합니다.
‘The Danger of a Church Established by Immature Christians’
I Co. 3:1-15
1. Observation and Meditation
The Christians in Corinth are described as "infants in Christ." Despite their faith, they remain worldly and fleshly, evidenced by their tendency to create divisions by following specific human leaders. Their immaturity prevents them from seeing the church as a unified body under God.
2. Hearing the Voice of the Lord through QT
Paul clarifies that leaders like himself, Peter, and Apollos are merely coworkers. One plants and another waters, but it is God alone who makes things grow. As a "wise builder," Paul laid the only foundation that matters: Jesus Christ. Any ministry built on top of that foundation must be handled with extreme care and humility.
3. Decisions and Applications
I am reminded that everything I do for the Kingdom will eventually be tested by fire.
The Materials: If I build with "gold, silver, and precious stones" (motives and works aligned with God’s will), the work will endure.
The Warning: If I build with "wood, hay, or straw" (human pride or worldly methods), it will be consumed.
My goal is not just to work, but to work in a way that survives God's judgment so that He may be glorified and I may receive His reward.
Today's Prayer
"Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed." (1 Peter 4:12-13)
Lord, I ask that You refine me through life's fiery ordeals. Strip away the "wood, hay, and straw" of my ego. Purify my heart and my service so that I may emerge as pure gold, standing firm on the foundation of Your Son. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
