‘하나님을 경외하는 자가 받는 축복’
1. 본문 관찰과 묵상
하나님을 경외하는 자는 계명을 지킨다. 악 과 교만, 거만 악한 행실과 패역한 입을 미워하는 것이다(잠 8:13). 정직하며 긍휼을 베푸는 자다.
2. QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성
이들의 삶은 강성하고 부와 재물 의 복을 받아 베풀며 산다. 흉한 소문에 두려워하지도, 흔들 리지도 않는다. 악인은 이를 보고 한탄하며 소멸한다.
3. 결단과 적용
천사가 아브라함에게 “내가 이제야 네가 하나님 을 경외하는 줄 아노라” (창 22:12)고 했다. 그는 여호와이레의 축복과 하나님 이 ‘벗’ (대하 20:7, 사 41:8)이 되는 복을 받았다.
오늘의 기도
주여, 부족한 종도 하나님을 경외하며 악에서 떠나 말씀대로 살면서 여호와 이레의 축복과 하나님이 ‘벗’이 되는 축복을 누리게 하소서. “여호와께서 이르시되 나의 하려는 것을 아브라함에게 숨기겠느냐?” (창 18:17). 저 에게도 임하게 하소서! 예수님의 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.
‘Blessings on those who fear God’
Ps. 112:1–10
1. Observation and meditation on the text
If I fear God, I will keep His commands. As someone who fears the Lord, I must hate wickedness, pride, arrogance, evil deeds, and perverse speech (Proverbs 8:13). Honesty should always be my policy. Furthermore, a true God-fearing person generously and freely shares what they have received from God with others.
2. I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
I hear the Lord speaking to me: God strengthens those who fear Him and blesses them financially so that they may be a blessing to others. Those who fear God do not live in fear of bad news or negative rumors. In contrast, the wicked will see the blessings of the righteous, become vexed, and waste away.
3. Decisions and applications
An angel said to Abraham, “Now I know that you fear God” (Genesis 22:12). Because of his obedience, Abraham received an abundance of blessings and came to know God as Jehovah Jireh ("The Lord Will Provide"). He was even called "God’s friend" (2 Chronicles 20:7, Isaiah 41:8).
Today's Prayer
Lord, empower an unqualified servant like me so that I may live as a God-fearing person who obeys You completely. May I, too, enjoy the profound blessings that Abraham received, walking in such close fellowship with You that You say, “Shall I hide from Abraham what I am about to do?” (Genesis 18:17). In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
