‘수전절에 나를 성전으로 주님께 드리라’
본문관찰과 묵상
안티오커스 4세의 극심한 유대인 핍박에 유다 마카비의 혁명을 통해 성전을 되찾았다. 성전을 수리하는 명절이라 해서 수전절, 8일간 성전에 불을 밝혀 성전되찾음을 기뻐하여 ‘빛의 축제’라, 성전을 봉헌했다 하여 ‘하누카’라 불렀다.
QT를 통하여 듣는 주님의 음성
유대인들이 예수가 그리스도면 밝히라고 하는 말에 예수는 이미 자신이 참빛, 양의문, 선한목자요 하나님으로부터 보내심을 받은 메시야, 그리스도라 밝혔지만 저들이 믿지 않았다고 했다. 나와 하나님은 하나다라고 하자 신성모독죄로 죽이려 했다.
결단과 적용
양의 문인 예수님을 통과하지 않은자는 절도요 강도다. 예수님의 양이 아니기에 예수를 믿지 못한다. 예수의 양은 목자를 알고 목자도 양을 안다. 수전절이 내가 성전으로 회복되어 나를 봉헌하는 절기가 되야 한다. 내 안에 성령이 거하는 거룩한 성전이 되게 하소서! 나를 주님께 봉헌합니다.

Observation and meditation on the text
Judas Maccabees revolted against Emperor Antiochus IV’s persecution on Jews, and they recovered the temple of God in the second century B.C. It was called the Festival of Dedication because they cleansed the temple of God. It was also called the Festival of Lights because they put lights in the temple for 8 days. It was also called Hanukkah because Jews dedicated and offered the purified temple to God.
I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
When Jews asked Jesus whether he was Christ, Jesus told them he had already declared himself as the True Light, the Gate for the sheep, the good shepherd, and the one who was sent by God, Messiah, Christ, but Jews did not believe him. When Jesus declared that he and the Father were one, Jews tried to kill him because they judged Jesus committed sin of blasphemy.
Decisions and applications
If anyone who do not go through the gate of the sheep are thieves and robbers. Since they are not Jesus’ sheep, they don’t believe in Jesus. Jesus’ sheep knows their shepherd, and vice versa. The Jewish Festival of Dedication should be my festival of rededication of myself as a purified and cleansed temple of God. Lord, please make me a temple of God where the Holy Spirit resides. I offer and dedicate myself as a holy temple to you, Lord!
