‘I am saved by faith only’
Jos 6:15-27
Observation and meditation on the text
On the 7th day the Israelites marched around the city 7 times. When the priests blew the trumpet people shouted, and at the sound the wall collapsed. They devoted the city to the Lord and killed men and women, young and old, cattle, sheep and donkey.
I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
The Israelites who obeyed God’s words conquered Jericho. And Rahab and her household who obeyed God by faith were saved. My obedience must be done by faith.
Decisions and applications
‘Everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.’ (I John 5:4-5). If I believe in Jesus Christ and obey him, I overcome the world too. Since my Lord strengthens me, my faith is getting stronger. Hallelujah!
