‘God judges His shepherds first’
Ezekiel 34:1–10
1. Observation and meditation on the text
God judges His shepherds first. He brings down the false prophets who exploit His sheep to satisfy their own greed and covetousness. In contrast, Jesus Christ, who is the True Shepherd promises to seek out and deliver His sheep who have been scattered.
2. I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
Throughout my 30-year ministry, my wife and I have striven to do our best to guide and nurture His sheep toward spiritual maturity. Together, we have poured out our possessions, spiritual gifts, and physical health for the sake of the flock. By God's grace, I commit to living out this calling as a faithful shepherd for the rest of my days.
3. Decisions and applications
In this generation, false prophets driven by a desire for power and control are widespread, a clear sign of the end of time. They do not hesitate to divide the Church and deceive or exploit the flock to fulfill their self-serving ambitions. I resolve to pray faithfully for those who are being led astray and misled by these false shepherds.
Today's Prayer
Lord, please rescue and grant discernment to those who have been deceived or entrapped by the spirit of heresy, modern Gnosticism, and spiritual falsehood. Protect Your flock and draw them back to Your truth. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
