‘스스로 종이 되어 섬기는 이유’
1. 본문 관찰과 묵상
바울은 자유인이나 모두의 종이 된 것은 한 사람이라도 더 얻고자 함이다. 이기기를 다투는 자는 모든 일에 절제한다. 나 자신을 쳐 복종시켜 버림받지 않으려 한다.
2. QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성
유대인에게는 유대인 같이 이방인에게는 이방인 같이 약자들에게는 약자로 사는 이유는 한 사람이라도 더 그 영혼을 구원하기 위함이다.
3. 결단과 적용
30년의 목회는 부족했지만 나 자신을 성도들의 삶에 맞추려 애썼다. 특히 가난한 자들, 약한 자들에게는 나 자신이 가난하고 약한 자로 섬겼다. 항상 나 자신을 연단했다.
오늘의 기도
주여 이번 주말에 있을 난민선교집회에 나도 난민처럼, 디아스포라 라는 정체성으로 하나되어 복음을 전하게 하소서. 예수님의 이름으로 기도합니다.
‘The Reason Why I Make Myself a Slave to All’
I Co. 9:19-27
1. Observation and Meditation
Even though Paul is a free man, he voluntarily makes himself a slave to everyone so that he can win as many souls as possible. He notes that everyone who competes in the games undergoes strict training. Similarly, Paul disciplines his body and makes it his slave so that, after preaching to others, he himself will not be disqualified.
2. Hearing the Voice of the Lord through QT
To the Jews, Paul became like a Jew; to those under the law, like one under the law; and to the weak, he became weak—all to win as many souls as possible. He is willing to adapt to anyone, anywhere, for the sake of the gospel.
3. Decisions and Applications
Throughout my 30 years of pastoral ministry, I have done my best to identify with every member of my congregation. Specifically, I have sought to serve the poor and the weak by meeting them right where they are. I must continue to practice strict self-discipline every day.
Today's Prayer
Lord, help me to do my absolute best to identify with and understand the hearts of the refugees and the diaspora during this weekend’s revival services. Give me your heart for them. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
