‘같은 실수를 반복하지 말라’

본문관찰과 묵상

     아간의 죄를 심판하신 후 하나님은 이스라엘에게 아이성을 허락했으니 공격하고 ‘헤렘’ 즉 하나님께 돌릴 것도 다 취하라고 했다.  3만명을 성 뒤에 매복시키고 성 앞에서 도망하는 척 유인 하라고 명령하셨다.

     같은 실수를 되풀이하지 않으려면 첫째, 교만하지 말라.  아이성을 얕보고 3천명 군사를 보내 실패했지만10배의 군사를 보냈다.  둘째, 하나님의 말씀대로 순종하면 실패하지 않는다.

결단과 적용

     ‘하나님의 어리석음이 사람보다 지혜롭고 하나님의 약하심이 사람보다 강하니라’ (고전 1:25).  하나님의 지혜로운 전략과 전술이 나의 뛰어난 생각보다 높고 깊다.  말씀에 순종하며 살면 절대 실패 가 없다.  이전의 실패를 되풀이 하지 않게 순종하며 살아간다.

Observation and meditation on the text

     After judging Achan’s sin, God ordered the Israelites to attack the city of Ai and take ‘HEREM,’ instead of destroying the booties as reward since God granted Ai to them.  God told them to set an ambush with 30,000 army behind the city as the vanguard group pretended to flee away from them to lure the army of Ai.  Then they could conquer the city of Ai.     

I hear the voice of the Lord through QT

     If I never want to repeat the same mistake, first, I must be humble.  The Israelites dispatched 3,000 men out of pride before, but this time, they sent out 30.000 soldiers.  Second, if any community wants to win the battle, they should obey God’s words. 

Decisions and applications

     ‘For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom and the weakness of God is stronger than any human strength.  God’s wise strategies and tactics are far better and higher than my way.  If I obey the Lord, there is no failure.  Instead of repeating the same mistake in the past, I will obey the Lord every day.
