‘내 자신이 순종하는 그의 노예가 된다'

본문관찰과 묵상

     내가 누구에게 순종하든지 내가 순종하는 그의 종이 된다.  이제 나는 죄의 종에서 의에 순종하는 의의 종이 되어 거룩하게 구별된 열매를 맺고 산다.  그 마지막은 영생이다. 

QT 를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성

     ‘죄의 삯은 사망이요 하나님의 은사는 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 영생이다’ (롬 6:23).  내가 죽어서만 얻는 영생이 아니라 오늘도 이  땅 에 살면서 구별되고 거룩한 질이 다른 영생을 산다 .

결단과 적용

     ‘영생은 곧 유일하신 참 하나님과 그의 보내신 자 예수 그리스도 를 아는 것이 영생이니라’ (요 17:3).   ‘하나님을 안다’ 는 ‘하나님과 개인적인 교제를 늘 갖는다’ 라는 뜻이다.  주님께 순종하니 나는 주님의 종이다.  오늘도 QT를 통해 주님과 의 교제가 더 깊어지고 주님의 음성을 들으니 감사드린다.

‘I shall be a slave of whom I obey’

Rom. 6:15-23   

Observation and meditation on the text

     Whomever I obey, I will be a slave of whom I obey.  Now I have been consecrated by bearing fruit as a servant of righteous Jesus from a slave of sin by obeying Jesus.  As a result, I am enjoying eternal life.   

I hear the voice of the Lord through QT

     ‘For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord’ (Rom. 6:23).  I am enjoying eternal life, which is consecrated, holy and differentiated life on earth now.  Eternal life is not something I can enjoy only in the heavenly kingdom upon my death.   

Decisions and applications

     Jesus prayed to God, ‘This is eternal life: that people know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent’ (John 17:3).  ‘To know God’ means to have an intimate personal fellowship.  Since I obey the Lord, I am a servant of God.  The more I do my QT, the more I have intimate personal fellowship with Jesus.  I give thanks to the Lord because I hear the voice of God through my personal fellowship with God in His words.
