‘안식일의 주인은 율법이 아닌 예수다’
1. 본문 관찰과 묵상
안식일에 제자들이 밀밭에서 이삭을 잘라 먹고 회당에서 예수가 병자를 고치자 바리새인들이 안식일을 범했다고 죽이려 했다. 예수는 안식일의 주인이 예수라 했다.
2. QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성
안식일에 배고픈 자를 먹이고 병든 자를 고쳐 영육간에 치료하고 안식을 주는 것은 예수와 제자들의 사명이다. 이사야의 예언대로 살리는 영이 일한다.
3. 결단과 적용
또 호세아의 예언대로 “예수는 인애를 원하고 제사를 원하지 않으며 번제보다 하나님 아는 것을 원한다” (호 6:6). 사랑없는 종교행사, 의식, 예배는 하나님이 받지 않는다. 사랑으로 율법을 완성하며 영혼을 살리며 살리라 (롬 13:10).
오늘의 기도
나는 인격적으로 성품적으로 부족한 점이 많은 목사다. 그러나 나를 긍휼히 여기사 나를 영원한 죽음에서 살리신 예수를 만난 후부터 영혼을 살리는 목사로 살아왔다. 형식적인 예배나 설교가 아닌 “내가 사는 것이 그리스도요 죽는 것도 유익하다” (빌 1:21) 는 말씀대로 나를 죽여 희생하며 살아왔다. 주님이 아시고 30년 목회현장에서 성도들이 안다. 부족함이 많은 목사지만 앞으로도 그렇게 살아가리라!
‘Jesus, the Lord of the Sabbath’
Mt. 12:1-21
1. Observation and Meditation
The Pharisees plotted to kill Jesus because He and His disciples "broke" the Sabbath by picking grain to eat and healing the sick. In response, Jesus declared that the Son of Man is the Lord of the Sabbath, placing human need and divine mercy above rigid legalism.
2. Hearing the Voice of the Lord
It was not just "allowable" for Jesus to feed the hungry and heal the broken—it was His mission. Real Sabbath rest is found in being set free from bondage. As prophesied by Isaiah, Jesus carries out this work through the Spirit of Life, bringing hope rather than heavy burdens.
3. Decisions and Applications
Jesus reminds us of Hosea’s words: “I desire mercy, not sacrifice.” God is not interested in hollow religious rituals or "performing" righteousness. Today, I choose to fulfill the spirit of the law through the love of Christ. I will prioritize people over programs and compassion over cold rules.
Today's Prayer
Lord, keep me from the trap of hypocrisy and the desire to show off for others. Anoint me with Your Holy Spirit. Just as Your love revived my life, let me use that same love to feed the hungry and bring healing to those around me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
