‘오직 하나님께만 영광 돌리라’
1. 본문 관찰과 묵상
불신자들은 하나님이 보이지 않으니 어디 있느냐고 믿는 자들을 조롱한다. 자신들이 손으로 만든 우상 이 하나님이라고 한다. 하나님은 보이는 그의 창조물로 보이지 않는 하나님의 존재를 증명한다.
2. QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성
내가 예수를 믿고 새 창조물이 된 것을 보는 사람마다 보이지 않는 하나님의 존재를 믿는다. 그러나 손으로 만든 우상은 그 누구도 변화시키지 못한다.
3. 결단과 적용
“믿음은 바라는 것들의 실상이요 보이지 않는 것들이 증거니” (히 11:1). 내 손으로 만든 우상이 나를 변화 시키지 못한다. 새롭게 나를 창조하신 주님께 영광 돌린다.
오늘의 기도
주여,오늘도 성령으로 나를 예수님 닮은 사람으로 계속 새롭게 창조해 주소서. 성화되게 하소서. 예수님의 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.
‘Glorify the Lord only, not idols’
Ps. 115:1–8
1. Observation and meditation on the text
Unbelievers often mock believers, challenging them to show proof of their invisible God. Instead, they point to their own handmade idols and insist that those images are gods. However, the invisible God powerfully reveals His existence through all of His creation.
2. I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
I hear the Lord speaking to me: “When others witness your transformed life—changed by faith—they are drawn to believe in the reality of the invisible God.” In stark contrast, handmade idols lack any power and are completely incapable of bringing about new life or creation.
3. Decisions and applications
“Faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” (Heb. 11:1). Any idol I try to substitute in my life is powerless to change me. Therefore, I choose to give all the glory to God alone, who has truly transformed me into a new creation.
Today's Prayer
Lord, continually mold and shape me into the image of Jesus by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Consecrate and sanctify me daily. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
