‘나는 구경꾼인가 예수의 증인인가?’
1. 본문 관찰과 묵상
예수가 자신을 그리스도라고 말하고 구름 타고 올 심판자라고 하자 종교인들은 그를 신성모독죄로 심판하고 사형 언도했다. 예수를 조롱하고 침 뱉고 때렸다.
2. QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성
불의한 자들이 심판 자로 오실 예수를 심판하고 조롱했다. 그 때 대제사장 가야바의 집 뜰 에서 일어나는 일을 베드로는 멀찍이서 구경하고 있었다.
3. 결단과 적용
예수는 자신을 그리스도요 심판 자로 오실 하나님이라고 선포했다. 예수를 대변 해야 할 베드로는 구경만 했다. 내가 구경할 때 예수는 고통을 받는다.
오늘의 기도
나는 예수의 제자인가? 구경꾼인가? 예수가 존경 받는 자리에서는 예수의 종이라 하며 예수가 조롱 받는 자리에서는 모른 척 숨지는 않는가? 주여 구경꾼이 아닌 예수의 증인으로 살도록 성령의 능력으로 충만케 하소서. 예수님의 이름으로 기도합니다.
‘Am I a spectator or a witness?’
Mt. 26: 57-68
1. Observation and Meditation
When Jesus declared that He is the Christ and the Judge who will return on the clouds to judge the world, the religious leaders accused Him of blasphemy and sentenced Him to death. In their disdain, they ridiculed Him, spat on Him, and struck Him.
2. Hearing the Voice of the Lord
The wicked dared to judge the ultimate Judge, Jesus Christ, with mockery and violence. While this unfolded, Peter watched from the courtyard of the High Priest Caiaphas. Though he saw the truth, he remained silent and kept his distance—acting more like a spectator than a witness.
3. Decisions and Applications
Jesus boldly declared His identity as the Christ and the Sovereign Judge. Peter, who should have defended his Lord, shrank back into the role of a spectator. I realize that when I downgrade myself from a witness to a spectator, I allow the name of Jesus to suffer. I must choose to stand with Him, even when the environment is hostile.
Today's Prayer
Lord, am I truly Your disciple, or just a spectator? Do I only publicly declare myself Your servant when You are being honored by others? Or do I hide my faith when the world turns against You? Lord, empower me by the Holy Spirit so that I may live as a true witness of Jesus in every circumstance, never fading into the background. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
