‘돈보다 귀한 두 영혼’
1. 본문 관찰과 묵상
예수께서는 풍랑 속에서 두려워 떨며 부르짖는 제자들을 향해 "믿음이 작은 자들아 왜 무서워 하느냐" 라고 꾸짖으셨다. 곧이어 말씀으로 바람과 바다를 즉시 잔잔하게 하심으로 자연 만물 위에 있는 신성의 권세를 보이셨다. 갈릴리의 가다라(거라사) 지방에서 귀신 들린 두 사람을 고치기 위해 막대한 경제적 가치를 지닌 돼지 이천 마리의 몰살을 허용하셨다. 이는 세상의 그 어떤 재물보다 한 영혼의 회복이 비교할 수 없을 만큼 소중함을 행동으로 증명하신 기적이었다.
2. QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성
“나는 만물을 다스리는 창조주 이자, 너의 생명을 구원하러 온 하나님이다." 예수님은 성육신 하신 하나님으로서 신성의 능력으로 자연을 복종시키시고, 악한 영에게 정복당했던 두 인생을 자유케 하셨다. 주님은 돈으로 환산할 수 없는 고귀한 생명을 살리기 위해 자신의 전부를 내어 주시는 구세주다.
3. 결단과 적용
때로 나의 삶도 거센 풍랑을 만난 배처럼 요동칠 때가 있다. 그때마다 깨닫는 것은 주님이 계시지 않은 것이 아니라, 내게 '주님을 신뢰하는 믿음'이 부족했다는 사실이다. 문제의 크기에 압도되어 문제를 다스리는 주님을 바라보지 못할 때 두려움 이 찾아오게 마련이다. 이제는 "믿음의 주요 또 온전하게 하시는 이인 예수(히 12:2)"만을 바라본다. 세상의 가치 기준인 '돈' 에 매몰되지 않고, 한 영혼을 구원하기 위해 대가를 지불하는 예수의 증인으로 계속 살아가리라.
오늘의 기도
주님, 거친 문제 앞에 주저 않지 않고 오직 주님만을 바라보게 하소서. 바다를 잠잠케 하시고 악한 영을 쫓아내시는 예수 이름의 권세가 오늘도 내 삶에 실제가 됨을 믿습니다. 내 안의 풍랑과 어둠을 꾸짖어 주시고, 주님이 사랑하시는 그 한 영혼을 저 또한 온 마음 다해 사랑하며 섬기게 하소서. 생명의 주관자 되신 예수님의 이름으로 기도 드립니다. 아멘.
‘2 demon possessed men who were valuable than much money’
Mt. 8:23-34
1. Observation and Meditation
Jesus rebuked His disciples when they cried out during the furious storm, pointing to their lack of faith. He then rebuked the winds and the waves, bringing a great calm. Later, Jesus allowed the destruction of 2,000 pigs—possessions of great financial value—to save two demon-possessed men who seemed worthless to society.
2. Hearing the Voice of the Lord
Jesus is God incarnate. He calmed nature with His divine power to save His disciples, and He delivered the two men from spiritual bondage. Jesus saves precious lives that cannot be bought with money.
3. Decisions and Applications
Sometimes I feel caught in the "storms" of life. This happens not because Jesus is absent, but because I lack faith. I often allow fear to grip me by focusing on my problems instead of on Jesus, who rules over all with His sovereignty. I will “fix my eyes upon Jesus, the author and perfecter of my faith,” and I will overcome. I commit to witnessing for Jesus, regardless of the financial sacrifice.
Today's Prayer
Lord, I fix my eyes upon You instead of my problems. I recognize that Your power is greater than any storm or spiritual darkness. When fear rises, remind me of Your sovereignty. In the power of Your name, I pray for deliverance from anything that binds me. I choose faith over fear today. In Jesus' name, Amen.
