‘과거에 저지른 불순종을 되풀이하지 말라.’
본문 관찰과 묵상
르우벤과 갓 자손이 야셀과 길르앗 땅을 보고 자신들의 목축업을 하기에 적당하니 자신들은 요단을 건너지 않고 요단동편에 머물겠다는 요청을 했다. 가데스 바네아에서 저지른 불순종을 똑 같이 하면 여호와의 진노가 이스라엘 백성을 멸망시키리라했다.
QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성
과거의 불순종을 통해 40년을 광야에서 방황케 했는데 그것을 잊고 또 불순종하려 하는 이스라엘의 모습에서 나를 발견한다. 과거의 실패를 다시 반복하면 그 때는 멸망이다.
결단과 적용
실패를 통하여 교훈을 배워야 한다. 나의 불순종이 반복되면 공동체가 망한다. 가정, 교회, 나라와 민족을 살리려면 한 마음으로 가나안을 정복해야 한다. 나만 거기서 빠진다면 나는 비겁자다.

Observation and meditation on the text
The Reubenites and Gadites who had large herds and flocks, asked Moses to give them the lands of Jazer and Gilead, which were suitable for their livestock. They did not want to cross the Jordan River but to stay in the east of Jordan. Moses vehemently warned and reminded them of their disobedience at Kadesh Barnea, and if they repeated their disobedience, then the wrath of God would destroy the entire Israelites.
I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
I see myself through the people of Israel who totally had forgotten their disobedience in the past and as a result they were wandering in the wilderness for 40 years, and they still tried to repeat to disobey the Lord for their own interests. If I forget my sufferings due to my disobedience in the past, and if I try to repeat for my own interests, then there will be destruction.
Decisions and applications
I must learn precious lessons through my past failure. If I repeat my disobedience to the Lord, then there will be destruction in the community. If I restore my family, church, nation and people, I must bring about a unity in my community to conquer the promised land. If I try not to participate in it, I shall be a coward. Help us Lord to be united to restore community.
