‘요한의 증거로 많은 이들이 예수를 믿었다’
본문관찰과 묵상
유대인들이 예수를 돌로치려 한 것은 자신을 하나님이라고 한 신성모독죄로 정죄했기 때문이었다. 예수는 시편 82:6을 인용, 하나님이 세운 재판장들도‘신’이라 했는데 자신은 하나님의 아들이기에 하나님이라 했다.
QT를 통하여 듣는 주님의 음성
예수는 하나님이 하시는 일을 하는 것을 보고도 예수가 하나님인 것을 알지못하느냐고 반문했다. 예수는 세례요한이 세례주던 곳으로 갔다. 많은 사람들이 요한은 기적도 하나 행치않았지만 그가 예수를 하나님의 어린양, 세상죄를 지고가는 메시야, 그리스로라고 증거함으로 많은이가 예수 믿었다.
결단과 적용
나도 세례요한처럼 기적을 일으키려고 이상한 짓 하지 않아도 된다. 나도 세례요한처럼 예수의 행하시는 일은 하나님이 원하시는 영혼구원을 이루시기 위해 하나님만이 할 수 있는 일을 하시는 하나님이라고 증거만 해도 나의 증거를 통해 많은 사람들이 예수를 믿게 할 수가 있다. 전도의 미련한 방법으로 나는 오늘도 많은 사람들을 예수께 인도하며 살아간다. 기쁘다!

Observation and meditation on the text
Jews tried to stone Jesus to death because they judged Jesus blasphemed by saying that he was God. By quoting Ps 82:6, however, Jesus declared that even the Old Testament lucidly declared that judges were called ‘gods,’ because they were appointed by God. Furthermore it was legitimate for Jesus to identify himself with God because he was sent to us as the Son of God.
I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
Jesus asked back to the Jews how they could not understand he was God by telling them what he was doing was what God only could do. Jesus withdrew to the place where John the Baptist did his ministry. There many people declared that they believed in Jesus as God by John’s witnessing Jesus as the Lamb of God, who took away the sin of the world, who was Messiah, Christ without performing any miracles by John himself.
Decisions and applications
Like John the Baptist, now I realize that I don’t need to try to perform miracles by doing weird things. I have assurance that I can lead many to Jesus by witnessing Jesus who can perform such miracles as saving the lost souls, which only God can do. I am so happy today because by such foolish thing as witnessing Jesus I can still lead many souls to believe in Jesus.
