‘예수와 하나님이 나 때문에 영광받는길은?’
본문관찰과 묵상
가룟유다가 예수를 팔 생각을 가지고 나가자 예수는 지금 인자와 하나님이 영광을 받았다고 했다. 즉, 예수가 팔려 십자가에 죽고 부활하심으로 받는 영광이다. 베드로도 자신도 죽겠다 할 때 예수는 닭울기 전에 3번 부인하리라 했다. 내가 죽음으로 예수와 하나님이 영광받으시는 것이 아니다.
QT를 통하여 듣는 주님의 음성
나의 죽음으로 다른 사람을 구원하지 못하기 때문이다. 내가 용서받고 새사람이 된 것처럼 나도 다른 사람을 용서하고 받으면 주의 사랑으로 모든 율법이 완성된다. 내가 당해도 사랑으로 용서하면 예수와 하나님이 영광받는다.
결단과 적용
나는 흠이 많은 죄인이기에 내가 죽는다고 다른 사람을 살릴수 있는 완벽한 화목제물이 못된다. 내가 죽으면서 까지 예수로부터 받은 사랑을, 주님의 복음을 증거함으로 다른 사람들도 서로 서로 사랑하며 살게 한다면 나는 예수와 하나님께 영광돌리며 살게 되리라. 오늘도 내 생명 다할때까지 예수의 사랑, 율법을 완성하시는 하나님의 사랑을 전하며 증거하며 살리라!
‘The way to give glory to Jesus and God.’
John 13:31-38
Observation and meditation on the text
Jesus declared that he and his Father God would be glorified when Judas Iscariot went out at night to sell Jesus. In other words, Jesus and his Father would be glorified when Jesus would be crucified and resurrected upon Judas betrayal. When Peter declared that he would die too, Jesus said Peter would betray him 3 times before the rooster would craw. My death itself cannot glorify Jesus or God.
I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
I cannot save the souls of others by my death. As I have become a new creation after being pardoned from my sins, if I also forgive others and accept my enemies by the love of Jesus, then God’s love will fulfill all the law. Even though I am mocked and ridiculed due to my faith, if I forgive them with the love of Jesus, then I will glorify Jesus and God.
Decisions and applications
I cannot save the souls of others even though I offer myself as a living sacrifice because my offering is not blameless to be a perfect peace offering. However, I can give glory to Jesus and God by sharing and witnessing the love of Jesus as much as I have experienced and received so that everybody may love for one another. Therefore, till the end of my life, I will dedicate to witness the love Jesus Christ and God, which will fulfill all the law.
