‘심판의 고통을 겪어도 끊지 못하는 우상숭배’
본문관찰과 묵상
다섯째 나팔소리에 무저갱 열쇠를 받은 타락한 천사 사탄이 무저갱을 여니 황충이 나와 이마에 인침을 받지 못한 불신자들을 5달 동안 전갈이 쏘는 것 같은 고통을 주었다. 이것이 첫째 화였다. 여섯째 나팔소리에 유브라데강에 결박한 4천사를 보내 2 억명의 마병대로 하여금 사람중 1/3을 죽이게 했다. 살아남은 사람들은 여전히 우상숭배를 하고 회개하지 않았다.
QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성
고통과 죽음의 원인은 우상숭배다. 하나님을 섬겨야 할 사람들이 자기 손으로 만든 우상을 섬기는 것이 십계명의 1 계명을 어기는 것이다. 죄의 삯은 사망이다. 하나님 외에 내가 가진 신은 무엇인가?
결단과 적용
주님만이 나의 삶에 주인이 되시도록 매일 나를 쳐서 복종시킨다. 금송아지, 곧 돈이 우상이다. ‘너희가 하나님과 재물을 겸하여 섬기지 못하느니라’(마 6:24). 주여, 내가 사는 것이 그리스도가 되게 하소서(빌 1:21).

Observation and meditation on the text
With the 5th trumpet sound, the fallen angel Satan who received the key for the abyss opened it, and locusts came out of it and for 5 months they harmed the unbelievers who did not have the seal of God on their foreheads with such a pain as the sting of a scorpion, which was the first woo. With the 6th trumpet sound, four angels who were bound at the river of Euphrates were released. Along with two billion mounted troops, they killed 1/3 of people. However, the survivors did not stop worshiping idols, nor repent of their sins.
I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
Sufferings and death are resulted from idol worship. It is to break the first commandment of God for me if I worship man-made objects instead of serving God. The wage of sin is death. What could be my idol which I serve besides of God?
Decisions and applications
Since Jesus is my only Lord, I keep on striking a blow to my body and make it my slave. The golden calf, money is the idol. ‘You cannot serve both God and money’ (Matt 6:24). Lord, help me so that ‘to live is to Christ to me’(Phil 1:21) every day.
