‘핍박 중에도 퍼져나가는 복음의 능력’
본문 관찰과 묵상
사두개인을 비롯한 종교지도자들은 사도들이 부활을 말하는 것을 싫어하여 옥에 가두었다. 그러나 복음을 듣고 믿는자는 5천명이나 되었다. 병자가 나은 것은 저들이 죽인 예수가 부활하였고 그 예수의 이름을 믿어 나았다. 그럼으로 오직 예수를 믿어야 구원 받는다고 선포하였다.
QT를 통하여 듣는 주님의 음성
병자가 고침받은 것을 본 사람들은 예수님을 믿었다. 그러나 종교지도들의 관심은 병자에게 있지 않았다. 사도들이 무슨 권세와 누구의 이름으로 병자를 고쳤느냐고 물었다. 자신들의 권위가 도전받은 것을 알았다.
결단과 적용
종교지도자가 권위를 가지고 사람을 고치고 살리지 못한다. 천하 인간에 구원을 받을 만한 이름은 나의 죄를 죽음으로 대속해 주시고 나를 살리기 위하여 부활하신 예수 그리스도를 믿는 것 밖에 구원은 없다. 나 같은 죄인이 용서함 받아 주앞에 새 사람이 된 것이 그 증거다.

Observation and meditation on the text
The religious leaders as well as the Sadducees were disturbed by the preaching of the resurrection of Jesus by the apostles and they incarcerated them. However, more than 5,000 people believed it. The apostles kept on preaching that the lame man was healed by believing in the name of Jesus Christ who was resurrected. Therefore, they declared that there was no other way to be saved except believing in Jesus Christ.
I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
The people who witnessed the healing of the lame man from birth believed in Jesus. However, the religious leaders were not interested in the healing of the lame man. Since they felt their authority was threatened by the name of Jesus Christ, they raised a question that ‘by what power or what name did you this?’ They knew their authority was challenged by the name of Jesus.
Decisions and applications
The religious leaders must have realized that they could not heal or revive weak people by human authority. There is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved except believing in Jesus Christ who redeemed me through his crucifixion and resurrection for my new life. Such a wretched man like me who has been saved and become a new man is the proof of the power of the name of Jesus Christ.
