본문 관찰과 묵상
아바림산에 올라 가나안을 바라본것으로 모세의 사명은 끝이났다. 신 광야 므리바 반석의 물로 인해 모세는 가나안땅에 들어가지 못했다. 목자 없는 양같이 될 백성을 위해 기도했다.
QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성
하나님은 모세의 기도를 들으시고 제사장 엘르아살로 우림과 둠밈의 판결로 여호수아를 모세의 후계자로 세웠다. 모세는 자신의 사명이 끝남을 알고 하나님께 순종하고 후계자를 세워 백성들을 가나안땅으로 들어가게 했다.
결단과 적용
나도 30년 한 세대동안 목회한 후에 물러났다. 아름다운 계승이 되지 못하고 1년만에 후임자가 사임했다. 교회와 전 성도가 고통을 당했다. 그 고통을 딛고 하나님의 뜻이 이루어지기를 기도한다. 목자없는 양 같이 되지 않게 하소서! 여호수아 같은 성령이 충만한 하나님의 사람이 후임으로 오도록 도우소서!

Observation and meditation on the text
Moses was charged by God to take a glimpse of the promised land, Canaan as he stood on top of the mountain Abarim. By doing it, his ministry was over. Moses was not allowed to enter Canaan due to disobedience to God in the desert of Zin for the waters of Meribah Kadesh. Moses prayed to God for a shepherd for the Israelites.
I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
Upon hearing Moses’ intercessory prayer, God had Eleazar the priest obtain decisions by Urim and Thumim before the Lord to decide Moses’ successor Joshua. Moses obeyed God and let his successor Joshua could lead the Israelites to Canaan.
Decisions and applications
I have retired after serving Antioch Church for 30 years, one generation. Unfortunately, my successor had to resign after one year since he became the leader for next generation. Church and all her members have been suffering since his resignation. Now I pray for the restoration of Jesus’ body, Antioch Church. Oh, Lord never let them be a flock without a shepherd. Such a spirit filled pastor like Joshua would become a shepherd for Antioch! Help us Lord!
