‘공의와 정의의 하나님께 간구하라!’
본문 관찰과 묵상
슬로브핫의 5 딸들이 모세와 리더들과 온 회중 앞에서 담대하게 딸들도 아버지의 기업을 물려받게 해달라고 요청했다. 그 요청을 듣고 하나님은 이스라엘의 상속법의 규례를 정해 아들이 없는 자의 기업은 딸들이 상속하게 했다.
QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성
부당한 처사에 담대 하게 공의와 정의의 하나님께 요구할줄 알아야 한다. 당시의 약자였던 여성들도 아들들과 동등한 상속권을 받게 한 것은 정의와 공의의 하나님이 허락하시는 일이다.
결단과 적용
정의롭지 못한 일이 있을 때 잠잠한 것은 비겁한 것이다. 사회적인 약자들의 대변자가 되라는 음성을 듣는다. 예수가 약자들 편에서 중보 했듯이 나도 부당한 대접을 받는 약자들을 위한 중보자로 살아가리라!
‘Plea to the righteous and just God.’
Num 27:1-11
Observation and meditation on the text
The 5 daughters of Zelophehad asked boldly Moses and the leaders and the assembly to allow them to succeed their father’s inheritance. Upon hearing their plea, God declared the inheritance law for those who had no sons so that the daughters might receive their father’s inheritance.
I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
I should be a voice to ask righteous and just God to correct any unjust and unrighteous treatment for the unprivileged weak people. It was just and righteous God’s grant for the discriminated women in the Jewish society to be treated equally with sons to succeed their father’s inheritance.
Decisions and applications
It is a cowardly act for me if I remain in silence toward any unjust discriminative treatment to anyone. I hear God’s message for me to be a voice for the socially weak people. As Jesus Christ has been a mediator for the powerless people in the society, I will live as their advocate too.
