‘나는 믿음으로 사나 의심으로 사나?’
본문 관찰과 묵상
믿음 없는 이스라엘 백성은 가나안 땅을 정탐하자고 했다 (신 1:19-22). 하나님은 그 요구를 들어 주시고 각 지파의 지휘관 1명씩을 뽑아 가나안 땅에 정탐꾼을 보내게 했다.
QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성
의심하는 백성들의 요구를 들어 주시는 하나님을 만난다. 리더는 말 잘 하는 사람이 아니라 잘 듣는 사람이다. 리더들이 가나안 사람들이 강한지 약한지 그 땅은 기름진지 과일을 가지고 돌아왔다.
결단과 적용
하나님이 가나안을 주시겠다고 약속 해도 인간은 믿지 못한다. 내 눈으로 확인하려고 한다. 믿음은 보지 못하는 것을 믿을 때 믿음 이라 한다. 내가 믿음에 있는지 나를 살피라고 하신다 (고후 13:5). 그리고 믿음은 모든 사람의 것이 아니라고 하신다 (살후 3:2). 내 눈에 아무 증거 안보여도 믿음만을 가지고 오늘도 전진한다.

Observation and meditation on the text
It was not God but the Israelites who asked God for exploring the land and people (Deu 1:19-22). God allowed their doubtful request, and ordered Moses to dispatch the expedition team, which comprised 12 leaders from each tribe.
I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
I meet God who embraces people’s doubtful requests. Likewise, I realize that leaders are not good speakers, but good listeners. Upon completing their exploration of Canaan, they brought bountiful fruits from the land.
Decisions and applications
God promised the Israelites to give the land of Canaan. However, people did not believe in it. They wanted to see and touch it to make sure of God’s promises. However, faith means to believe in God without having any visible proof. The Bible teaches me to test myself whether I have faith or not (II Co 13:5). And the Bible lucidly says, ‘not everyone has faith’ (II Thess 3:2). Therefore, today I keep on marching on my pilgrimage even though there are no visible and tangible proofs for the certainty of my future.
