‘유월절의 어린양으로 섬기신 예수님’
본문관찰과 묵상
예수님은 이 땅에서의 마지막 유월절에 친히 어린양으로 제자들을 섬기셨다. 떡을 떼어 자신의 몸이라 하셨고 잔을 나누며 많은 사람을 위하여 흘리는 피의 언약이라 하셨다. 죽으심을 예언하는데도 베드로는 믿음을 장담하였다.
QT를 통하여 듣는 주님의 음성
예수님은 유월절의 어린양으로 오셔서 유월절을 성취하셨다. 이 땅에서는 더 이상의 유월절이 필요없다고 하셨다. 스가랴의 예언을 인용해 제자들이 자신을 다 버리리라 예언하셨다. 주님의 은혜대신 자신을 보장한 베드로부터 실패하였다. 나에게 오늘 필요한 것은 장담이 아니라 주님의 은혜다
결단과 적용
나는 은퇴후에 아내와 함께 전 세계 선교지를 다니리라 선포했다. 나의 호언장담이었다. 그러나 아내가 더욱 약해지면서 이제는 도저히 모든 곳을 다 다닐수 없는 형편이 되었다. 그렇다 나에게 필요한 것은 장담이 아니라 ‘주여 나를 불쌍히 여기소서! 끝까지 가게 하소서!’ 은혜를 구하여야 함을 다시 깨닫는다.

Observation and meditation on the text
Jesus served his disciples as the Passover Lamb at the last Passover Meal with his disciples. He broke the bread and said it was his body and took a cup and said it was his blood of the covenant for many. When Jesus prophesied his death, Peter insisted emphatically that he would never disown Jesus.
I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
Jesus has come as the Passover Lamb and fulfilled the Passover. Jesus lucidly declared that there should be no more Passover on earth. And Jesus quoted the prophecy of Zecharia that his people would disown him. Instead of seeking for God’s grace, Peter who emphatically insisted his own faith failed. What I desperately need today is not emphatical and proud declaration of my faith but seek for his mercy and grace in humility.
Decisions and applications
I proudly and emphatically declared that upon retirement both me and my wife would visit all the mission fields to serve our missionaries. It was out of my pride. However, as my wife’s health is deteriorating, I simply cannot bring my wife to every mission field. Yes, what I need is not my determination based on my self-righteousness but humble attitude to seek for God’s mercy and strength by praying to God, ‘Lord, have mercy upon me so that I can do your mission all the way to the end.’
