‘열방을 위한 대제사장 예수의 도피성’
본문관찰과 묵상
하나님은 여호수아에게 요단 서편 가나안에 3곳 동편3곳에 도피성을 세우라고 했다. 부지중에 살인한 자가 공의와 정의로 재판 받을때 까지 피할수 있게했다. 대제사장이 죽으면 집으로 돌아갔다.
QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성
죄로 죽어야 할 나를 위해 대제사장 되신 예수가 나의 피할 도피성 이다. 그 대제사장이 죽으면 나는 자유롭다. 예수가 나를 위해 대속의 죽음을 죽으심으로 나를 살리셨다. 예수가 나의 도피성이다.
결단과 적용
어떤 상황에서도 나의 도피성은 예수 그리스도다. ‘나의 힘이신 여호와여 내가 주를 사랑하나이다. 주는 나의 반석이시요 나의 요새시요 나를 건지시는이시요 나의 하나님이시요 내가 그안에 피할 나의 피할 바위시요 나의 방패시요 나의 구원의 뿔이시요 나의 산성이시로다’ (시 18:1-3). 나의 도피성, 구원자 주님을 찬양한다.

Observation and meditation on the text
God ordered Joshua to establish 6 cities of refuge: 3 on the western side of Jordan and 3 on the eastern side. God allowed any accidental killer to flee there so that they might be judged by God’s justice and righteousness. They could be set free upon the death of the High Priest.
I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
Jesus Christ is my High Priest and city of refuge who died a redemptive death on the cross for such a sinner like me who is doomed to die. Upon the death of the High Priest Jesus, I am set free. Jesus revived such a sinner like me through his redemptive death. Therefore, Jesus Christ is my city of refuge.
Decisions and applications
In any circumstances Jesus Christ is my city of refuge. ‘I love you, Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold’ (Ps. 18:1-2). I praise my Savior and city of refuge Jesus Christ with thanksgiving!
