‘성만찬의 기원이 된 최후의 만찬’
1. 본문 관찰과 묵상
못 박히시기 전날밤 예수는 제자들과 최후의 만찬을 가졌다. 이것이 성만찬의 기원이다. 새언약의 떡과 잔을 나누셨다. 유월절 어린양의 살과 피였다.
2. QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성
오직 예수님의 말씀과 보혈을 믿음으로 먹고 마실 때 나는 예수와 연합이 된다. 베드로가 부인했어도 모든 제자들은 다 예수를 배반하고 떠날 것이다.
3. 결단과 적용
나도 예수의 제자다. 나도 예수가 막상 죽으면 예수를 배반할 것이다. 지난 삶 속에도 믿음을 고백했지만 또 실패도 했다. 나를 믿지 않고 예수를 믿어야 산다.
오늘의 기도
“내 살을 먹고 내 피를 마시는 자는 영생을 가졌고 마지막 날에 내가 그를 다시 살리리니 내 살은 참된 양식이요 내피는 참된 음료 로다” (요 6:54-55). 오늘도 새언약의 말씀과 보혈을 먹고 마심으로 영생을 살게 하소서! 예수님의 이름으로 기도합니다.
‘The Last Supper, the origin of the Holy Communion’
Mt. 26:26-35
1. Observation and Meditation
On the night before His crucifixion, Jesus shared a final meal with His disciples. This "Last Supper" established the foundation of Holy Communion. By sharing the bread and the wine, Jesus instituted the New Covenant, symbolizing His body and blood as the ultimate Passover Lamb sacrificed for us.
2. Hearing the Voice of the Lord
I hear the Lord reminding me that I am united with the risen Jesus only when I consume His Word and abide in His sacrifice through faith. Despite their bold declarations of loyalty, Peter and the other disciples ultimately faltered and abandoned Jesus in His darkest hour. This humbles me, as it reveals the frailty of human resolve compared to divine grace.
3. Decisions and Applications
I recognize that I am no different from the first disciples. Had I been there, I likely would have failed Him too. Looking back, I see moments where my faith was merely "lip service" and I failed to honor Him in my daily life. Today, I am determined to stop relying on my own strength. Instead, I will anchor my faith firmly in Jesus. I choose to live by His strength, not my own.
Today's Prayer
"Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day. For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink." (John 6:54-55)
Lord, empower me to experience eternal life today by feasting on Your Word and resting in the New Covenant of Your blood. Help me to walk in Your strength rather than my own. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
