‘말의 올무에서 벗어나게 하는 지혜’
1. 본문 관찰과 묵상
바리새인과 친 로마파인 헤롯당원들이 예수를 말로 올무에 걸리게 했다. 예수는 지혜롭게 가이사의 것은 가이사에게 하나님의 것은 하나님께 드리라고 했다.
2. QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성
어떤 올무 에도 걸리지 않는 지혜는 나라법과 하나님의 법을 잘 지키는데 있다. 그리스도인들은 세금납부에 거짓없이 살아야 한다.
3. 결단과 적용
하나님을 믿고 섬기는 그리스도인들이 세금을 내지 않고 불법을 행한다면 예수님의 이름에 먹칠을 하는 것이다. 그리스도인은 나라와 민족을 위해 헌신해야 한다.
오늘의 기도
주여 오늘도 오직 주님만이 나의 왕이요, 구원자요, 공급자요 주인임을 고백하며 주님만을 섬기며 살게 하소서. 그러나 또한 나라를 사랑하며 세금을 내며 국방의 의무를 다하여 세상 속 에서 빛과 소금으로 살게 하소서. 예수님의 이름으로 기도합니다.
‘Wisdom that sets me free from any trap’
Mt. 22:15-22
1. Observation and Meditation
The Pharisees and the pro-Roman Herodians conspired to trap Jesus with his own words. With perfect wisdom, Jesus answered them: "Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s."
2. Hearing the Voice of the Lord
The wisdom that sets me free from such traps is found in obeying both the laws of my nation and the laws of God. As Christians, we must faithfully pay our taxes to the state while also giving God what belongs to Him.
3. Decisions and Applications
If a Christian who claims to serve the Lord fails to pay taxes, it brings dishonor to the just and righteous name of God. We are called to be faithful citizens of our earthly nations as well as the Kingdom of God.
Today's Prayer
Lord, I confess that You are my only King, Savior, Provider, and Master. Empower me to live out this confession daily. At the same time, help me to love and serve my nation. May I be "salt and light" by fulfilling my civic duties and defending my country. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
