‘파괴하는 자를 보내 앗수르를 멸하시는 하나님’
1. 본문 관찰과 묵상
하나님의 심판은 파괴하는 자 바벨론-메대 연합군을 보내 니느웨 성을 멸절한다. 그리고 하나님의 백성을 회복시키신다. 만국은 하나님의 다스림 아래 있다.
2. QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성
세상 열국 열왕들이 일으키는 전쟁은 결국 그 속에서 하나님의 택한 백성을 구원하시기 위한 방법, 하나님의 경륜이다. 인간의 실수에 하나님은 간섭한다.
3. 결단과 적용
인류의 수많은 전쟁을 통해 복음과 예수가 전해 지며 믿는 자들이 구원받아 온 것이 인간의 전쟁역사다. 오늘도 전쟁속에서 주님이 일하시도록 기도한다.
오늘의 기도
주여, 하나님을 대적하며 교만한 나라와 민족을 “파괴하는 자”를 보내 멸절하시고 믿는 자들을 구원 하소서. 예수님의 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.
‘God sends an attacker to destroy Assyria’
Nahum 2:1–7
1. Observation and meditation on the text
God judges and destroys Nineveh by sending an attacker—the alliance of the Babylonians and Medes. Through this, God sets His people free. All nations are ultimately under God’s sovereign reign.
2. I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
The geopolitical struggles of nations and kings fighting for hegemony (dominance) are ultimately part of God's sovereign administration and plan to save His people. God intervenes in human’s sinful desires.
3. Decisions and applications
Human history is truly "His-story"—God's narrative of saving His people. Even amidst the numerous wars fought throughout history, God works to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Therefore, I pray today that His story of salvation will continue to unfold, turning even worldly conflicts into opportunities for His grace to reach people.
Today's Prayer
Lord, continue to break the power of proud nations that set themselves against You, and deliver those who believe. May Your plan of salvation prevail through all of history's turning points. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
