‘청함 받은 자는 많으나 택함 입은 자는 적다’  

1. 본문 관찰과 묵상

왕이 아들을 위한 잔치에 사람들을 초청 했다.  그러나 자신들의 할일 때문에 오지 않고 또 초청하는 자들을 모욕하고 죽였다.  왕이 저들을 전멸했다.  

2. QT를 통해 듣는 주님의 음성

그리고 네거리 길에서 아무나, 즉 이방인들이 초청되었다.  그러나 예복을 입지 않은 자는 쫓겨났다.  이방인이든 유대인이든 말씀에 순종해야 한다.     

3. 결단과 적용

나 같은 죄인을 천국 잔치에 초청하신 주님을 찬양한다.  그러나 때 때로 천국 백성답지 않은 옷을 입듯이 불순종 할 때도 있었음을 회개한다.    

오늘의 기도

주여 받은 은혜가 크니 그 은혜를 헛되이 받지 말고 매일 은혜로 나를 살리신 주님을 찬양하고 전파하게 하소서.  오늘도 누구를 만나도 예수를 전하며 살게 하소서!  예수님의 이름으로 기도합니다.   

‘Many are invited, but a few are chosen’

Mt. 22:1-14

1. Observation and Meditation

A king prepared a wedding banquet for his son and sent out invitations. However, many guests rejected the invitation, prioritizing their daily chores and personal business. Some went even further, insulting and killing the king's messengers. In response, the king punished those who rejected him and destroyed their city.

2. Hearing the Voice of the Lord

The king then sent his servants to the street corners to invite everyone they could find, including the Gentiles. However, when the king entered the hall, he saw a man who was not wearing the proper wedding clothes and had him cast out. This teaches me that whether I am a lifelong believer or a new convert, I must honor the King’s standards. Grace is a free gift, but it requires a heart that is willing to be "clothed" in righteousness and obedience.

3. Decisions and Applications

I praise the Lord for inviting a sinner like me to His table. Yet, I also repent for the times I have deliberately disobeyed His word, acting like the guest who refused to wear the proper attire. I realize that being "chosen" involves more than just showing up; it requires a transformed life.

Today's Prayer

Lord, please empower me so that I never misuse or take for granted Your immeasurable grace. Help me to live as a worthy recipient of Your love, praising and witnessing for Jesus every day. Regardless of who I meet today, let me be a bold witness for my Savior and Lord. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
